I am a loyal Congress worker: Govinda

MUMBAI: Actor-turned politician Govinda on Friday said he was a loyal worker of Congress party and a soldier of party President Sonia Gandhi.

"Like others, I am also working for success of her rally on Saturday", Govinda has said, an aide of the Lok Sabha member said.

The assertion by Govinda comes after some local newspapers reported that the North Mumbai MP was "more keen on his film career than on his political role."

Another newspaper, a tabloid, quoted Govinda as saying that he had decided to give "priority" to films.

Bhagam Bhag, a film starring Govinda, and directed by Priyadarshan, was released on Friday.
