LONDON: In the largest haul, British police have seized about 1.5 lakh pirated Bollywood DVDs and counterfeit goods worth over 5 million pounds in a raid at a London suburb.
Four people were arrested and three cars seized from Hayes, near Southhall, with more arrests expected to follow, police said on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, officers carried out the raid under Operation Don, code-named after a Bollywood action flick, and seized almost two million items.
The estimated 13 tonnes of merchandise included about two lakh counterfeit DVDs, three-quarters of which were Indian titles, as well as CDs and sports goods.
More than 6,000 pounds were also recovered.
