COIMBATORE: The 14-year-old Indore girl, Palak Muchhal, who has helped 234 poor children undergo heart surgeries by raising money by her singing, does not want to hurt her "voice" by going for records.
"I want to continue my singing for the benefit of poor children with heart ailments. I do not want to lose or hurt my voice, as many children are depending on me," Palak told reporters here on Saturday.
She congratulated Akanksha, also of Indore, for singing non-stop for 61 hours, a couple of days ago.
Palak, here to perform on Sunday for raising money for 15 heart surgeries for children in the area, said she had raised Rs 1.2 crore and helped 234 children through her trust.
Another 424 children are in the waiting list, the girl, whose aim is to become a playback singer, said.
She started singing for a film under music director Jatin Lalit. She has five albums to her credit.
Able to sing in 12 languages, including Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, Palak, whose name figures in the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of records for achievements in social work, has also received the International Pogo Amazing Kids award.
A local NGO, Annakshetram, would conduct a medical camp to identify 15 children, below 18 years, for heart surgeries, Ashok Mehta, its chairman said.
