Bakhtyaar Irani’s  says he is extremely nervous of how Tanaaz and he will finally fare in the  ‘Nach Baliye 2’ contest.

Tanaaz Lal and Bakhtyaar Irani’s consistent performances in ‘Nach Baliye2’ (Star One) have earned them praise from the judges.

The first edition of ‘Nach..’, saw his sister and brother-in-law-Delnaaz-Rajiv- come very close to winning.  So, what does he think are his chances?

“Delu and Rajiv did not win- that’s their destiny! As for us, we are at a point in the contest where we can afford to get neither over-confident nor complacent thinking that we are already the winners. The contest has heated up so much that despite having great scores, we are now on tenterhooks.

“I think its best that we keep our feet on the ground,” states Bakhtyaar firmly.

About his dancing skills, he says, “I have never learnt dance but I used to enjoy grooving to music since I was a child. Either you can dance or you cannot.”

What steps are you taking to garner votes? “We are campaigning in Malcolm Nagar and Behram Baugh and appealing to our community members to vote for us but it’s not a door-to-door campaign. Our choreographer has put up our posters in her locality.

We have also distributed T-shirts to roadside kids and asked them to wear it. But does all that tantamount to aggressive campaigning? We don’t think so and we do not feel that these techniques have fetched us more votes than what we deserved. We think people have been voting for us because they like our performances,” smiles Bakhtyaar.

With wedding bells ringing for the couple this month, how do they make time for preparations? “We are not going to have a shosha kinda’ wedding where the rituals go on for one hour and the reception for seven! It’s going to be a simple Parsi wedding. So, we don’t need to squeeze extra time out for the preparations,” signs off Bakhtyaar.
