NEW DELHI: Shikha and Neha Uberoi were knocked out of the doubles competition at the WTA Bell Challenge in Quebec City, Canada, after a straight set thrashing at the hands of the American pair of Laura Granville and Carly Gullikson.

The Indo-US combination lost the second round match at the Tier III event 6-0 6-1 and took home USD 1,250 and 30 ranking points.

Shikha and her US-based sister Neha had earlier beaten the top seeded Russian pair of Anastassia Rodionova and Galina Voskoboeva in a tight three-setter in the first round, but could not repeat the performance against the American girls.

After clinching a semi-final berth at the cost of the Uberoi pair, Granville and Gullickson made it to the title clash after a 4-6 6-3 6-0 win over Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and Australia's Nicole Pratt.

They will face the winner of the semi-final between American Jill Craybas and Alina Jidkova of Russia, and the second seeds Vania King of USA and Croatian Jelena Kostanic.
