State BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Thursday termed the current two-year tenure of the Congress led Democratic Front government as marked by inefficiency, insensitivity and lies. Referring to the series of scams the government was mired in, he remarked that the DF faction didn’t even spare the cow dung generated out of cattle camps and spurring yet another scam involving Rs60 crores.

The state BJP president added that the DF leaders swindled tonnes of cow dung generated by eight lakh cattle that were put in 400 relief camps across the state for nine months during the drought last summer.  In DF government’s tenure of seven years, the state had slid down from the number one position in terms of industrialisation and growth to sixth position in the country, he said.

Arguing that power was crucial for rapid industrial growth, Gadkari wanted to know what happened to the Letters of Intent that were signed with private power producers involving investment of Rs13,000 crores last year. He asked how will any investor put money in a state which has 16 hours of load shedding on a daily basis.
