Infosys replaces RIL as most influential Sensex stock

MUMBAI: IT major Infosys Technologies has replaced Reliance Industries as the most influential stock on the Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share benchmark index, Sensex.

According to the latest data available with the BSE, Infosys carries a weightage of 10.91 per cent on the Sensex, while pushing Reliance Industries to the second position with a weightage of 10.85 per cent.

Private sector banking major ICICI Bank carries the third highest weightage of 7.59 per cent, followed by tobacco major ITC at fourth position with 6.04 per cent weightage.

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group telecom company Reliance Communications is the fifth most influential stock on the Sensex with a weightage of 5.13 per cent.

Housing finance major HDFC and state run energy giant ONGC carry weightages of 4 per cent and 3.99 per cent respectively.
