LOS ANGELES: American actor/singer David Hasselhoff has shelved differences with ex-wife Pamela Bach for the sake of their children, contactmusic.com reported on Saturday.

The former Knight Rider star, who split with Bach in January, wants to end their much-publicised feud, and reveals that kids Taylor Ann and Hayley Amber keep him in check.

He says, "Right now my wife and I are sorting the finances out... I keep everything as nice as possible -- I don't want the kids to go through that.

"I never expected this to happen in my life so I'm new at trying to figure this out.

"I'm more concerned about making sure my daughters are OK because they're really good with me. My wife and I raised our kids together, we were very good parents, we just didn't end up together ourselves.

"Hayley's always saying, 'That girl is 20 and she's hitting on you,' or, 'She only likes you because you're a celebrity and you're rich'. And I say, 'What's wrong with that?'"

On Friday morning, Hasselhoff flirted, danced and slept his way through an interview on British television.

He blamed his dopey demeanour on sleeping pills.

The 54-year-old attempted to charm GMTV host Jenni Falconer during a promotional interview for the single Jump In My Car, saying, "You're not engaged. Oh I have a chance."

Hasselhoff later performed a hip-thrusting dance routine to his new song, aimed at Falconer, before falling asleep during a break in the early-morning show.

GMTV producers dismissed speculation he was drunk.

According to the web site, a spokesperson for the show said, "We do not believe he was drunk. There was no smell of alcohol."

Hasselhoff explains, "I was really tired. I've been in Vancouver then Leeds, then Manchester then Croydon."
