Malegaon: The police in a press conference on Monday released a sketch of yet another suspect in the Malegaon blasts case, and said it matched the profile of a sketch released earlier.

“This sketch was drawn by the police based on the information from those who saw a person parking a brand-new bicycle at the burial ground. This sketch matches one of the two sketches released earlier by the police. They were drawn on the information given by the cycle mart owner,” said Rajvardhan, SP, Nashik Rural Police.

“The investigation is proceeding in the appropriate direction and we are closing in,” Rajvardhan said.

The SP also said that a forensic report from one of the three labs confirmed residues of RDX, ammonium nitrate and petroleum hydrocarbon oil. Reports are still awaited from two more labs, he said.

Nashik: A bomb fitted with a remote control device was found outside a crowded hospital in Nashik on Monday. A bomb disposal squad was dispatched to the area and the device was defused, the police said. The device had 12 gelatin sticks, a wick and detonators.
