Ten films in different regional languages will feature in the two-week film festivals in Beijing and Shanghai.

BEIJING: Indian films are set to regale Chinese buffs who would get a rare opportunity to view them at festivals to be organised in the communist country beginning next week.

Ten films in different Indian regional languages will feature in the two-week-long film festivals that the country is holding in Beijing and Shanghai as part of the ongoing ‘2006 India-China Friendship Year.’

While the film festival in Beijing will be held from August 25 to 31, the event in the eastern metropolis, Shanghai will be organised in the first week of September, Indian Embassy said in a release.

The film festival has been organised by the Indian Embassy in collaboration with the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, China’s media watchdog.

Films Roja and Anjali (Tamil), Juye Poora Xoon, (Assamese), Entee Veedu Appoontem (Malayalam), Shwaas (Marathi), Dweepa (Kannada), Show (Telugu) and Chokher Bali (Bengali) will be shown at the festival. Two Bollywood hits, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Dil Chahta Hai will also feature in the film festival.
