MUMBAI: Central intelligence agencies and the state Anti-Terrorist Squad have identified two Lashkar-e-Tayiba operatives who could be behind the serial blasts.

A reliable source said Zabiuddin Ansari and Mohammed Faiyaz, both from Gujarat, are members of SIMI active in Mumbai and Maharashtra. Ansari travelled to Bangladesh on June 26 and Faiyaz to Iran on June 19. The two later went to Pakistan.

An intelligence source in Delhi said recent intercepts of conversations between terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir confirm the Lashkar’s involvement in the Mumbai blasts.
