Actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who was recently seen in the Jackie Chan starrer ‘The Myth’, will soon be seen in the supernatural thriller ‘Akela’ (Sony). Directed by the duo Glenn and Ankush and produced by B P Singh’s Fireworks, ‘Akela’ is a 26-episode series.

Though Sudhanshu has of late been focusing on films, it was the subject of the show that has him being able to see the dead which appealed to him. He explains, “Its been five years since I did ‘Kanyadan’. I liked the script of ‘Akela’. I play Ranbir, an ex-cop. Why I have quit the police force also forms one of the sub-plots.”

While actor Aashka Goradia (‘Kahiin Toh Hoga’) will be playing his fiancée, Sumeet Raghavan (‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’) will essay the character of Ranbir’s close buddy. Sudhanshu elaborates on Sumeet’s role, “We are like each other’s voices.  Later, due to an uncanny development Ranbir realizes that he’s actually alone.”

On the film front, Sudhanshu has been signed for Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Alibaug’ and ‘Dus Kahaniyan’, launched recently at the IIFA. He is also looking forward to the release of his films ‘Manoranjan’, ‘Uns’ and ‘Choodiyan’.

The actor who was once part of the popular music group Band of Boys says, “Singing will always be my passion. I may dabble in playback singing too.”

Happily married to Monicka and a doting father to five-year-old Nirvann, Sudhanshu confesses, “I do believe in the supernatural forces that can make life unpredictable and scary at times!”
