NEW DELHI: On the third day of the ongoing Mahajan suspense thriller, things started falling in place slowly with police zeroing in on the drug angle. Sahil, the central character of the drama, changed his stand and confessed his role on Sunday. "He has admitted he purchased the drugs and brought them to Mahajan's residence on June 1," said Manish Aggrawal, Additional DCP, New Delhi.

Sahil was produced before a city court and was remanded to eight days of police custody. The police also detained a Nigerian national who is reported to have sold the drugs to Sahil thus completing the chain of events on the fateful night.

The three friends of Sahil -Karan Ahuja, Tishay Khanna and Rahul Malhotra-who had accompanied him to Mahajan's residence, have also been questioned. "We have questioned them in Sahil's presence because their earlier version of the incident had changed," said a police officer.

While Tishay, Karan, and Rahul had said Sahil had purchased the drugs, Sahil had denied it. However, when they were questioned together, Sahil confessed his role in the purchase of the drugs, said a police officer. Sahil had no choice but to accept his role as the Nigerians held by the police named him as the one who bought drugs from them. While at least six Nigerians have been detained, Abdullah is reported to be the one who sold the drugs. Police picked him up from the Munirka area of south Delhi.

So far police have questioned 21 people in the case. The next in the list to be questioned are Rahul Mahajan and Pramod Mahajan's two personal secretaries, Harish Sharma and Shudhanshu Mittal.
