NEW DELHI: The role of Nigerians in drug trafficking has once again come to the fore with the arrest of six of them in Delhi police for their possible role in  supplying drugs for the Mahajan party.

In the past one-and-a-half years, 36 Nigerians have been arrested by various law-enforcing agencies in the Capital.

They come to the country on student visas, and many of them extend their stay with fake documents, said an NCB official in Mumbai. They get cocaine into India and take back heroin from here. The heroin comes mainly from Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is taken to Nigeria, refined and smuggled into Western countries.
