DMK President M Karunanidhi on Friday staked his claim for forming a government in Tamil Nadu.

CHENNAI: A 31-member DMK ministry headed by M Karunanidhi will be sworn in here on Saturday.
A Raj Bhavan communique said here that Governor SS Barnala invited Karunanidhi to form the ministry when the DMK chief called on the governor to stake claim to form a government.
The list includes M K Stalin, son of Karunanidhi.
Other prominent DMK leaders, who are to be sworn in, are K Anbazhagan, N Veerasami, Ko Si Mani, Veerapandi Arumugham, Duraimurugan,P T R Pazhanivel Rajan, Dr Ponmudi and K N Nehru.
Three women -- Dr Poongothai, Geetha Jeevan and Thamizharasi – will also be sworn in as ministers.
The ministry, the largest the state ever had, will have two Muslim representatives in S N M Ubayathullah and T P M Moideen Khan.
Karunanidhi is understood to have given letters of support from the Congress, PMK and Left parties, offering unconditional support to his party in forming a ministry.
He informed the governor that he had been elected the leader of the DMK legislature party, Raj Bhavan sources said.
