Warrant issued against film producer JP Dutta

INDORE: A local court here on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against film producer JP Dutta for wrongly displaying the national flag over coffins in the film LoC Kargil.
   
The warrant was issued by Judicial Magistrate First Class Narendra Jain on a petition filed by the convenor of the organisation Tiranga Abhiyan, Ravi Atrolia.

 

Earlier the court issued bailable warrants against Dutta in the case but he had obtained a stay from the high court.
   
The high court later dismissed his application.
   
Following the dismissal, Dutta was supposed to appear in court on Monday but he failed to do so, Abhiyan's lawyer, Shailedra Dwivedi told reporters.
   
Abhiyan alleged in its complaint under the Prevention of Insult to the National Honour Act, that in the film Dutta had wrongly displayed the national flag over the coffin of the soldiers, thereby insulting the tricolour.
   
The court fixed May 24 as the next date of hearing in the case, Dwivedi added.
