Unperturbed chain snatchers leave cops red-faced again

The spate of chain snatching incidents continue in an unabated manner in the city. Despite irate residents flocking to police station on Thursday, and police claiming to have enhanced the vigilance, the miscreants are on a prowl. In fact, on the same day, four separate incidents of chain snatching were reported in different parts of the city.   A booty of Rs1.40 lakh was stolen by chain snatchers.  Shockingly, apart from the four incidents, the city has witnessed 14 chain snatching 

Incidents in the past two days  

Chinchwad: A 32-year-old woman Swati Raju Naik lodged a complaint against two unidentified persons for allegedly snatching her gold chain worth Rs15,000 on Thursday morning on Link Road in Chinchwad

Chinchwadgaon: Two unidentified persons came on a motorcycle and snatched a gold chain worth Rs65,000 at a crowded place in Chinchwadgaon during the evening hours. The victim Vaibhavi Vilas Godse lodged a complaint with Chinchwad police station 

MIDC Bhosari: A 49-year-old housewife Surekha Mohan Fadnis lodged a complaint with Bhosari MIDC police station stating that  unidentified persons snatched her gold chain worth Rs24,000 at Shahunagar in Bhosari MIDC and fled on a motorbike. 

Wakad: Jijabai Taraman Kalate (43) lodged a complaint against two unidentified persons for allegedly snatching her gold chain worth Rs36,000 on Wakad Road.
