Pune: Students appearing for re-examination of the leaked MBA paper are facing trouble as most of them are out of the state and a few are abroad. They say they can’t be back in the city to meet the exam date. The University of Pune (UoP) will take the re-examination on June 14, more than a month after the MBA paper of Management Information System was leaked on May 10.
A student of a city college residing in Assam said, “My mother is suffering from a heart ailment and it is not possible for me to leave her. There is no direct train from Assam to Pune and I’ve to go via Kolkata. I cant afford a flight ticket at such a short notice.”
A few students have already begun their internships and jobs and cant leave them midway. Komal Singh, a student of a city college, is working as an intern. “I work at Tata Steel in Tata Nagar and if I come and give the re-exam it will ruin my chances of finding another internship.” Some students are from outside the country and it would not be feasible for them to come for one exam and go back before coming to college again when it reopens on July 15.” Shilpa Raina, another city college student is working in Jammu&Kashmir. She said, “it is difficult to get tickets at this time even in Tatkal. I wont get a leave from my office either.”
The Varsity officials from the examination department said that enough time has been given to the students to appear for the re-exam.
On May 10 an MBA student from Singhad college, Prasad Waikar, blew the whistle on the leaked paper when he realised that he had seen 8 questions on his Whatsapp earlier.
