Pune: In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old man who was missing for last two days, his body was found in the duck of the lift in Bhavani Peth society on Saturday morning.

Deceased has been identified as Shabbir Gilletwala, who hails from Burhani Colony in Aurangabad. Gilletwala runs a hardware business in Aurangabad and his two daughters stay in Pune. At present a case of accidental death has been registered at Samarath police station. As per the post mortem report, Gilletwala cause of death is due to multiple injuries.
Gilletwala body was found in decomposed manner in the duct of lift in the ‘A’ wing of Vishal Apartment situated in Bhawani Peth. Local resident were complaining of foul smell and assumed initially it was a rat, but later when the watchman of the society went to clean the duct found a man’s dead body. The society alerted the police and fire bridge. Around 11.30 am the fire bridge rushed to spot and after struggling for 20 minutes his body was brought out.
Gilletwala’s relative Mustafa Karmalawala (52), a resident of Vishal Apartment said, “Deceased was my maternal uncle and had visited our house on Thursday evening. After interacting with us he was to visit our other relative in Bhawani Peth.”
Sub-inspector K B Jadhav, said, “Gilletwala’s son-in-law who had approached us on Thursday to register a missing complaint. He was missing from the same society where he was last seen. His relative who stay in the same society identified him.”
