Save Pune objects to Pune Municipal Corporation Notification on Metro

Claiming that the notification issued by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for inviting suggestions and objections on Pune Metro through the MRTP Act as illegal, Save Pune Committee has alleged that the PMC was cheating citizens of Pune.

The committee has demanded to PMC Commissioner that a written report from the law department of the PMC on this notification should be made available to committee. Shiv Sena corporator Prashant Badhe, former BJP Corporators Ujjwal Keskar and Suhas Kulkarni along with Congress Corporator Sanjay Balgude said that putting advertisement inviting suggestions and objections which could hamper the existing development plan can not be allowed.

Keskar said that the PMC has proposed development plan and the process of suggestions and objections of the DP is already on. He said that while the process is on, the PMC should have proposed the changes in the rules before the Pune District Planning Committee and hence it is illegal.
