Tuesday, 17 July 2012 - 12:42pm IST | Place: Pune | Agency: dna

Number of sectors under demarcation and action for these to be decided today.

Decision on how many sectors of the Pradhikaran area are affected by the demarcation of Dehu Cantonment Board’s red zone would be made clear after a high level meeting on Tuesday.
The chief executive officer of Pimpri-Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA) Dr Yogesh Mhase told DNA, “The final decision of the Dehuroad Cantonment Board (DCB) demarcation of radius will be known after the meeting. On the basis of the marking, we will know exactly how many sectors of PCNTDA fall under the red zone.”

Besides PCNTDA officials, officials from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), defence and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) will also be present for the meeting. The district collector will preside over the meeting.
Mhase added, “In the primary investigation after the meeting with defence, we have come to know that about five sectors from 19 to 23 are under the demarcation of defence radius. The other sectors that we suspected earlier, namely from 24 to 27, may not come under the red zone. The issue will be clear only after the meeting.”

When asked what would PCNTDA’s stance be if developed sectors came under the red zone, Mhase replied, “The PCNTDA will take a decision only as per high court and state government order, as the high court had asked us to send the report of the red zone marking. We will stop giving further permissions for building, transfer of land, completion certificate to the affected sectors till the HC’s final decision.”
