As per a recent study conducted by thatspersonal.com, Pune stands fourth on the list of adult product shoppers, ranked after Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. When dna asks the Puneites to share their views on the idea of making these products accessible, most of them feel that it is great to have such a definite step for Indians to broaden their mindsets.

"Although I am glad that people are widening their horizons, I find it funny that, India being the land of Kama Sutra, has taken so many years to start such an initiative. Ideally, we should have started the trend of selling these products," said Vicky Gogia, an automobile journalist.

"I had been thinking of gifting something 'interesting' to my wife. My friend told me about a particular website where I could find a variety of products, without worrying about spending a bomb," said Ankita Gupta, a financial consultant.

That'spersonal.com keeps the buyer's identity a secret, which is preferred by most of the consumers. In addition, they provide their costumers with the option of picking up their parcels from authorised offices in their city, in case they don't want the packages delivered when they are not at home.

"In India, purchasing a condom from a chemist is met with sniggers and giggles. Today, I can buy a whole range of adult products online without being embarrassed. An online stores lets me to check different products and compare their prices in the comfort of my home. Even women can shop for the products discreetly," said Arjun Nair, a social media manager.

The study by thatspersonal.com also revealed that female shoppers in the city are more than the males shoppers.

Annanya Paul, a writer, said, "I'm glad that the products are finally available in India. Shopping online also saves us from the awkwardness of buying these stuff at a store. But at the same time, I feel that we would be 'empowered' when we walk into a store and buy sex products without being judged."

With the wedding season round the corner, most women fee that the portals provide them with more ideas for gifts.

"The most silliest part is that the 'parcel' comes in a black thick plastic bag and your sharp minded friends will figure out that either you have purchased either meat or some raunchy stuff," Malini ruefully adds.

However, some citizens feel that such websites should not be encouraged as they might spoil the youth.

"I don't trust the safety of products like lubricants, creams and gels, as they may affect the hormonal system or cause complications in the body. When it comes to pleasure, I feel natural ways are better and safer," said Ruchika Sharma, a housewife.

According to city-based sexologist, Dr Rajendra Sathe, certain products such as creams, gels and lotions, advertised and sold online for the enhancement of the size of the penis, are not proven as good remedies and neither do they feature anywhere in ayurvedic or allopathic pharmacopoeia.

"These products, which promote the myth of 'size matters', have suddenly come into vast demand in the country. I strongly feel that one has to put a stop to it," Dr Sathe added.

Thatspersonal.com is India's first online portal which sells adult erotic products like edible lingeries, flavoured lubricants, gels, massage oils, aroma candles, erotic costumes etc.
