Parking on FC Road: The permanent dos and don'ts are here

Following the objections and suggestions on the parking issue on the Fergusson College Road, the traffic branch on Friday put in place permanent parking and no-parking arrangements on the road.

Due to terror threat and traffic congestion in the area, in August, the traffic department had taken the decision of making the area a ‘no-parking’ zone so that untoward incidents can be averted. However, due to the stiff opposition from the traders and the residents, the decision was rolled back.

Deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Vishwas Pandhare said that following the opposition, the traffic department had surveyed the parking condition of the FC Road and has decided to implement the parking and no-parking slot by slot. “We implemented the arrangements and sought the suggestions and objections from the residents and now we have decided to implement the changes permanently,” said Pandhare.
