Need to do things differently for progress: Kakodkar

Padma Vibhushan nuclear scientist, Anil Kakodkar during his campus visit, enlightened the students at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) about the growing need of technology to empower various sectors and the need for country to do things differently for progression. 

He addressed the students on the topic “Development Through Technological Empowerment At The Grassroots” on July 19. Vice-Chancellor of Symbiosis International University(SIU), SB Mujumdar and Commandant of National Defence Academy(NDA), Air Marshall KJ Gill, were also present on the occasion. 

Kakodkar highlighted on the key development issues concerning the growth of the nation, such as survival, education, food and nutrition, energy, communication, sustainability, search for better standard of living and exploring new frontiers. He said, “India is developing as a nation and there needs to be a progressive improvement in these sectors. Just because we are emerging as a stronger economy, our problems don’t seem to go away, rather they seem to grow. We need to do things differently”. 

He stressed on the fact that wealth generation and education system play an integral part in balancing development.
