Meantime, sources in the varsity said that the paper must be leaked someone from the examination department.
Prasad Waikar, a student from Sinhgad college of management, had access to the paper via WhatsApp, and the same questions appeared the question paper. Waikar then approached the university to inform them of the leak.
Speaking to dna, police sub inspector, A D Sable of Chatushringi police station said that they are trying to get the WhatsApp trail and have so far grilled around six students from whose cellphones the message had been circulated.
Cops will also investigate whether the students from other collages other than Sinhgad had received the paper. Meantime, the Controller of Examination, Dr V B Gaikwad said that the question paper cannot leak from the exam section as the entire system is full-proof.
"We have a system, in which if the paper is accessed by someone, it is documented in the logs," he said.
