Pune rural police busted a late night booze party at a farmhouse at Aapti Gevndi village near Pawananagar on Wednesday and arrested 35 people, including 12 former bar dancers.
Officers claim to have recovered Rs24 lakh, several foreign made liquor bottles and contraceptives from the farmhouse.

According to the police, the farmhouse, owned by a Mumbai-based businessman Goldy Chopra, was frequently used for parties. The layout of the farmhouse had been changed to suit such late night parties.

Speaking to dna, superintendent of police (Pune rural) Manoj Lohiya said, “The action was taken by the personnel of Lonavala rural police station after receiving a tip-off that a late night party was going at the farmhouse. Assistant police inspector Santosh Patil formed a special team and rushed to Aapti Gevndi village. The team reached the farmhouse around 3 am. On entering the farmhouse, they found the 12 former bar dancers dancing to the tune of blaring music and other people enjoying the party.”

Lohiya said, “Chopra had made changes in the construction plan of the farmhouse by creating a special hall on the terrace for parties. There were three rooms on the ground floor. The organisers had engaged a DJ and liquor was served illegally. Our team also seized several pockets of condoms and contraceptive pills from the farmhouse.”

The arrested people were taken to Lonavla police station and later for medical test at Kanhe on Wednesday morning. A case has been filed against them under Indian Penal Code and the Bombay Police Act.

According to sources, party organisers had brought the girls from Mumbai and other states. “The arrested girls are from Kolkata, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The organisers had brought them to the farmhouse on Tuesday morning,” a police officer who took part in the raid said.
