Bikers snatch woman's gold chain in Pune

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne men attacked a woman and snatched her gold chain. The incident took place when she was returning home along with two other women after attending the wedding of an acquaintance at Nadenagar, Kalewadi on Friday afternoon.

Suvrna Ramesh Chavan (28) has lodged a complaint with Sangvi police station.

According to the police, two unidentified persons on motorcycle came from the opposite direction when the trio were near Jotiba Garden Marriage Hall. The pillion rider snatched Chavan's gold chain, prompting her friend Sushma Suryawanshi to push the chain-snatcher away. However, the duo managed to flee.

Police sub-inspector SB Tadake said, "The duo lost their balance but managed to escape from the area. Suryawanshi also tried to snatch the pillion rider's bag but she could not hold it tight. As a result, the bikers went in Kalewadi's direction. Rider had a helmet while the pillion wore a cap. We are probing the case," he said.
