Pune: Fed up of the inaction by builders, residents of a housing society are protesting by putting up banners and posters, warning people to stay away from investing in the builder’s schemes.
Residents of Royal Residency, Jijamata Park, Chinchwad are protesting against Ram Associates and Patel builders for lack of basic amenities like water supply and electricity.
The residents had complained to Vitthaldas Patel, Nilesh Parsiya, Manojkumar Bhagat and Sanketkumar Patel about this, but according to the residents, these builders have still not taken any action. Sambhaji Shinde of Royal Residency said, “When we got the possession, there was no power connection or drinking water supply. After complaining, we got electricity from the construction meter. We were not provided with individual meters for our flats. As most of the residents were using the construction meter, the builder told us to use minimum electricity.”
Another resident Brijlal Digambar said, “The builders gave us a letter from the architect saying that the flats are in ready possession. But after we came here to stay, there was no drinking water and electricity connection. We have lodged a complaint to the concerned government officials as well as Nigdi police station, but in vain.”
When contacted, Nilesh Parsiya of Ram Associates said, “Many of residents are lodging invalid complaints. We have given all the basic amenities and water connections will be provided very soon. We have applied to the concerned authorities to start the work as soon as possible, but it cannot happen instantly. Setting up water connections and electricity meters will take sometime.”
