Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Pravin Maniar on Sunday said that he will work towards removing chief minister Modi from power. “I made a mistake of bringing him to power. Now, I will work to remove him from there,” Maniar told DNA on Saturday.

Maniar, who was speaking following veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Keshubhai Patel’s announcement of quitting the saffron party and form a new party to challenge Modi, said that the veteran leader had also put forth his complaints to top national leaders. “During his talk with top leaders of the BJP, Advani told Keshubhai

that a third front had never succeeded in Gujarat, to which the latter replied that this time around he will ensure that it is a success,” Maniar said.
The former head of sampark unit of RSS said that Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela was also in touch with them. “I personally talked to Vaghela to join hands with Keshubhai. He has given positive signals although as of now there has been no meeting with Keshubhia and Vaghela,” said Maniar.

When contacted, Vaghela said there was no question of joining hands with Keshubhai although he said, he sympathised with the way the veteran leader was being treated.

“There is no question of joining hands with Keshubhai. I plan to ensure victory for the Congress in the assembly elections. I did have a brief chat with Keshubhai after I came to know of his exit from the BJP but it was because I have known him for long,” said Vaghela.
