In a unique initiative to make their plea heard, parents of all missing children of the state will take out a rally from Rajpath Club in Ahmedabad to the chief minister’s official residence in Gandhinagar and invite CM Narendra Modi to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with them.

The MoU rally is being organised under the banner of ‘Search My Child’ movement, an initiative by Sanjay Joshi, a social activist.

According to Joshi, the rally will be held on June 25, exactly six months after 11-year-old Vishwa Patel went missing under mysterious circumstances from her residence in Anandnagar area of Ahmedabad.

“We realized that MoUs are a hit with the CM. As nothing concrete has been done yet to find the children who went missing, we have decided to turn to MoU. We believe that might get the attention of the government,” said Joshi.

As per the plan, parents of all the missing kids will prepare MoU documents and march towards Modi’s official residence in Gandhinagar from Rajpath club on June 25. The MoU will be having an agreement signed by the parents.

“It will be a MoU between parents and CM, where parents will agree to support Modi in his ambitions of becoming next prime minister. In return, they want the CM to help them find their kids,” said Joshi, who is yet to receive an official permission to meet the CM regarding the issue of missing children in the state.

According to Joshi, the government is not serious about finding the kids, who are missing for many months and years. “I sent a letter to the CM on May 30, requesting him to spare some time to discuss the issue with parents and activists. Even after 10 days, the CM office has not reverted. So, we have to do something which attracts the attention of the CM, and MoU is the best medium for that,” said Joshi, who has called for a meeting of all the parents of city on June 12 to decide about the rally for the MoU.

“After that, we will call a meeting of parents from across the state on June 17 to get exact details of missing kids in the state.
To get public support for the rally, we will also call all the citizens to come forward and join our protest on June 23. Following that, we will march towards Gandhinagar on June 25,” said Joshi.
