Water cut in parts of Mumbai on March 8

Residents of south Mumbai and eastern suburbs will face water cut for 24 hours beginning Tuesday as the civic body has undertaken pipeline connecting work.

Residents of south Mumbai and eastern suburbs will face water cut for 24 hours beginning Tuesday as the civic body has undertaken pipeline connecting work.

"The work of extending a pipeline from Mulund, Goregaon Link Road Junction, Eastern Express highway to Amar Mahal at Chembur is in progress. This pipeline is to be connected with Mumbai-II main line at Vikroli. This will lead to water cuts for 24 hours," an official from the hydraulic department of BMC said.

There will be no water supply in Mumbai city and eastern suburbs from 10 am on March 8 to 10 am on March 9, he said.

The areas to be affected include Naval dockyard, D' Mello road, Abdul Rehman street, Lokmanya Tilak road, Byculla, Reay road, Wadi Bunder, Parel, Matunga, Mankikar Marg, Sahakar Nagar, Govandi, Mankhurd, BARC Colony, Raja Wadi, Garodia Nagar, Ramabai Nagar, Kamraj Nagar, Diamond Garden, Mahul Village, Tata Power, BPCL Refinery, Pestam Sagar, Cheda Nagar, Shell Colony and Thakkar Bappa Nagar.

"There will be low pressure on March 10 and water may be slightly turbid. Citizens are requested to boil the water before consuming as a precautionary measure," the official said.
