In the ongoing battle against actor Shah Rukh Khan, Wankhede Stadium guard Vikas Dalvi has found another ally in the Shiv Sena, after party members on Monday lauded the guard for his ‘good work’.

The Sena has put up posters across the city showering praises on Dalvi for putting up a brave front against Khan in the nasty brawl that ensued between him and MCA officials at the stadium on May 17. The MNS has also announced that it will felicitate Dalvi.

The Sena poster says, “Arey Shabbash! Kadvad Marathya, Tujhe Salam. Uddam, tarrar Shah Rukh Khanala, security guard Vikas Dalvi Shikavali addad.” (Bravo! Staunch Marathi, greetings. You teach a lesson to aggressive and rude Shah Rukh Khan.)”

When asked about the posters, Shiv Sena spokesperson Harshal Pradhan said,”Dalvi didn’t lose his cool even before the aggressive Shah Rukh Khan who was showing off his wealth. Dalvi deserves the praise, that’s why we are praising him. There is no politics behind it.”

The party may also felicitate Dalvi much like the MNS has proposed to. But Pradhan denied that their plans had anything to do with the rival party.

“We don’t even count the MNS. We are a 48-year-old party and they are just two years old.” And even though the poster mentions ‘kadvad Marathya’, Pradhan denies that this bears any reference to the Marathi Manoos issue.
