The intermittent unseasonal rain that lashed across the district has damaged the rabi crops, and also house roofs in many villages have been thrown off by heavy wind.
           
The untimely rain was experienced in many places including the city during the last three days, local residents said.
           
The wind and rain have damaged the standing crops- wheat, gram, mango, orange, vegetables. Many house roofs have also been thrown off in many places which rendered many poor villagers roofless, the locals said.
           
In the adjoining Lohara village, a neem tree fell on the electric line that snapped the supply for over 3-4 hours.
           
There were thunder and lightning also but no casuality reported from any where in the district. In Digras, there was hailstorm also which damaged the crops to a great extent.
           
Darwha, Mahagaon, Ner, Ghatanji, Babhulgaon and the adjoining villages have also received medium rainfall. The district has received an average of 1.93 mm rain during the last couple of days, weather bureau official said.
           
The farmers brought their grains to the APMC have also suffered heavy loss due to the untimely rain as there was no arrangement to protect them from getting wet.
