Despite protests from the parents regarding shifting of Narhe campus of Sinhgad Technical Society’s (STS) Sinhgad Springdale High School, the school authorities have announced that the campus will be shifted to Ambegaon Budruk.

In a press conference in the city on Monday, the parents’ association president Shivabhau Pasalkar said, “We protest against the management decision of shifting. The school earlier had shifted from Ambegaon campus to Narhe and now again they are shifting to Ambegaon.’’

He added, “We want to know as to how many times, the school will keep shifting. The school took the decision arbitrarily.’’
The school, in its circular issued on February 8, mentioned that since the Narhe campus is overcrowded and parents of pre-primary, primary and secondary dislike it because a hospital is located near the school.

Parents along with social workers have filed cases against Sinhgad Technical Society to stop holding of classes owing to the hospital’s presence in the vicinity.

Similarly, a few parents have complained about the long journey that the children are forced to undertake to reach the school thereby increasing the bus charges. The traffic on the highway also leads to a delay making the children tired. Owing to all these problems, the school has decided to shift to Ambegaon from the next academic year.

Pasalkar added, “The fee structure for  2012-13 is also not acceptable and the school should talk with the parents.’’
