Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray today said the party will hold a massive demonstration to highlight the issue of neglect of Konkan region by the Konkan Railway on June 30.

Addressing Shiv Sainkis on the 44th foundation day of the party, Uddhav ridiculed revenue minister Narayan Rane's announcement of holding an agitation demanding more trains to Konkan from Mumbai and more halts in the region on South-bound trains.

"It is hilarious that people in government at the Centre and the State are resorting to demonstrations when it is in their hands to make the necessary changes," Uddhav said adding details of nature of the agitation would be announced in the party mouthpiece 'Sammana' soon.

What is the use of Konkan Railway if it does not benefit the region itself, he questioned.

He also criticised Rane and his son's organisation 'Swabhiman' on water issue. "This is nothing but mere drama," he said.

Referring to the rumblings in the NCP over chief minister Ashok Chavan not delegating authority to anyone before embarking on his foreign trip, Uddhav said it shows that there is no trust between the two coalition partners. "The chief minister should have taken his chair too with him on his trip abroad," he said.

He attacked Congress party for failing to contain the Naxal menace in the country and also said the state government is still clueless about Pune bomb blast. The Congress has no daring to take action against Sharad Pawar after his alleged involvement in IPL controversy, he said

The Congress party which removed Shashi Tharoor from the council of minister has no guts to apply the same yardstick to Pawar, he added.

He alleged the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) was ploy to separate Mumbai from Maharashtra. "This institution is specifically working to weaken the civic bodies in Mumbai, Thane and other adjoining urban centres," he said.

The attempt is to create a new industrial state, he said adding this show how much hatred Delhi has for Maharashtra.
