The Shiv Sena, for a change, attacked revenue minister and senior Congress leader Narayan Rane instead of its new arch rival, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.

Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday, announced a widespread agitation against the  Konkan Railway administration over various issues related to passengers from the region.  Rane too, last week, had announced the agitation against the Konkan Railway administration in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.

Thackeray, while talking in the party’s 44th anniversary function at Shanmukhananda Hall in Kings Circle, said that his party had first launched the agitation on the issue and only his party had the ability and courage to sort out the issue.

Citing the agitation against the water mafia by Rane’s son Nitesh, Uddav said, “These murgi chor (hen thieves) are against the water thieves. But it’s not their cup of tea,” he added. “The Sena will show you how the voice of people is heard in Delhi and how the issues are sorted out.  The railway ministry will bow down in no time once the agitation is launched.”

Uddhav also criticised chief minister Ashok Chavan for not handing over the charge to another minister while on a foreign tour.
