With the Maharashtra Government approving Rs3,000 crore internal loan, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be able to execute its several on-going projects including those related to roads, storm water drains and dumping ground.
"We have decided to spend this internal loan amount on the projects from the next year's budget," a civic official said today on condition of anonymity.
The list of projects submitted by the BMC to the state government would include the ongoing projects like roads, sewage treatment plants, storm water drains, dumping grounds, hospitals for demanding internal loans.
Since the last couple of years, the BMC has been demanding internal loan from the government to carry out these projects.
The government would possibly give the loan from civic provident fund coffers and the BMC would returned it to State in a phased manner, the official said.
