On the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS),  party chief Raj Thackeray delivered a clear cut warning to ‘traitors’ within the party, stating that they will not be spared at any cost.

“I have come to know that certain activists indulged in business deals with other parties during the civic polls. Now it is my turn to teach these activists real business in my style,” said Thackeray, speaking at the programme held in Shanmukhananda Hall in Sion on Friday.

Thackeray also mentioned that his party has achieved electoral support in the last six years that cannot be compared to any of the parties existing in the state, making it obvious that certain ‘rotten ones’ let the party down during the civic polls.

“I had certain expectations from Mumbai and Thane. My calculations could not have gone wrong to such an extent. All those who worked in the elections, especially those from Mumbai and Thane, will be thoroughly scrutinised and action against the guilty ones will be taken in the month of April,” said Thackeray, adding for dramatic effect that one should not take this warning as an ‘April Fool’ attempt.

On a different note, while congratulating his voters and activists, Thackeray made it clear that the MNS will have its first mayor from Nasik and the main opposition leader in Pune will also be from the MNS.

Following the recent acts of co-operation at Thane between arch-rivals Shiv Sena and MNS, Thackeray refrained from attacking the Sena. However, alluding to NCP president Sharad Pawar’s taunt that ‘people need to wake up early in the morning to run a party’, Thackeray retorted by saying that those who had made such comments are now losing sleep because of him.

The MNS has supported the Sena in Thane municipal corporation to get its mayor elected, and the same favour is expected from the Sena in Nasik, which will bring MNS’ mayor into the corporation.
