As news of David Coleman Headley pleading guilty for his role in the Mumbai attack appeared in the day's newspapers, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul got "nauseated" with the thought of being in the company of the American "devil", whom he calls a "double agent of the USA".

Bhatt, 28, who had known Headley during the latter's stay in Mumbai, said, "I am nauseated by the very thought that I had run into the devil himself."

Bhatt, a gym instructor and budding actor, said that during his conversations with Headley there was no chance that he could have suspected the American of having any terror links.

"Not in my wildest dreams could I imagine that this white
American is a modern-day jackal," Bhatt told the Press Trust of India on telephone. "He should have been given the death sentence for engineering the murder of innocent men, women and children."

A nutritionist and fitness professional, Bhatt came in contact with Headley at his gym. He has already said that the incident shook him and he had lost faith in everyone.

Bhatt, who has been questioned more than twice by the National
Investigation Agency in connection with the roles of Headley and his Pakistani-Canadian associate Tahawwur Hussain Rana, said Headley had called him a month after the 26/11 attack.

To a question about his association with Headley, Bhatt said, "Did I know Headley? The answer is yes and no. The David Headley that I knew then was a different man and the David who has now emerged is a different man... an absolute monster."

"My father was making a film on terrorism and I was getting an American perspective from him [Headley]," he said.

Headley, who was arrested by the joint terrorism task force of
the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Chicago on October 3 last year, pleaded guilty before a US court yesterday to all charges pressed against him, including his involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack conspiracy.
