The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) finally released the first list of its general category candidates on Thursday night.
City mayor Mohansingh Rajpal and former mayor Rajlaxmi Bhosale along with several sitting corporators managed to find a place in the list.
Also, some close relatives of city NCP leaders were given tickets. Suman Balasaheb Pathare, a sitting corporator and sister-in-law of member of lower assembly, Bapu Pathare, and Reshma, wife of MLC Anil Bhosale will contest from Vadgaon Sheri and College of Agriculture panel respectively.
The other sitting corporators who made it to the list are, Suresh Baburao Shevale, Baburao Chandere, Avinash Salve, Bapurao Karne, Uday Mahale, Vikas Dangat and Vishal Tambe.
Mango trader, Shivlal Bhosale, will contest from Dhankawadi Gaothan.
The party also declared the candidature of notorious goon Bandu Andekar’s brother, Udaykant from Doke Talim and Ramoshi Gate panel.
Interestingly, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar had engaged in a mudslinging match with Congress minister and his cabinet colleague, Narayan Rane, over crime and criminals in Pune and Sindhudurg.
Udaykant has a criminal past and cases have been registered against him with Cantonment and Samarth police stations.
