Maharashtra home minister RR Patil today said the Pune gang rape case will be tried in a fast track court.

Public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam will represent the prosecution, Patil said while replying to a non-official resolution on rising incidents of crime against women in the state by Sudhakar Deshmukh (BJP).

A 25-year old MBA graduate was allegedly gang raped in IT hub Hinjewadi on outskirts of Pune on April 3. Three accused have been arrested in this connection.

Patil said special committees will be set up at district level comprising professionals like doctors, lawyers, professors to monitor cases of crime against women and other women related issues.
