Pune crime branch bust prostitution racket , arrest pimp

The crime branch of the Pune police on Monday evening busted a prostitution racket in the conservative Kothrud area of western Pune and arrested a foreign national and a pimp from Madhukunj housing society in Guru Ganeshnagar.

The suspects have been identified as Junia Zova Howazan (30), a commercial sex worker (CSW) from Turkmenistan, and the pimp, Sachin alias Kunal Baburao Kubale (24) of Chandannagar.
Both were arrested under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act, 1956, by the Kothrud police. Rs12,000 and two cellphones were seized from them.

However, the main suspect in the gang, John alias Jatin Chhabda, is yet to be arrested.

According to the police, Junia came to India on a tourist visa 5 months ago and was operating in New Delhi. She came to Pune two days ago. 

The suspects were running a prostitution racket involving foreign nationals from an apartment in Madhukunj society by advertising in newspapers for hi-fi escort services.

Judicial magistrate (first class), SS Bose remanded both the suspects in police custody till November 3.
