Prices of most veggies up by 10 to 20% in Pune

Around 50 truckloads of vegetables arrived at Market Yard on Monday, but due to the cold weather last week, the supply in the market has reduced.

This has resulted in a rise in the prices of vegetables in the wholesale and retail markets. On Sunday the Market Yard saw a heavy arrival of 150 truckloads of vegetables.

The worst-hit are ladies finger, tomato, bitter gourd, cauliflower, cabbage and green peas, the prices of which have risen by 10 to 20%. Rates of other vegetables are constant, according to wholesale vegetable merchant, Vilas Bhujbal. Here is a look at the prices of vegetables at various markets on Monday:
