President may inaugurate sea link

The Bandra-Worli Sea Link is likely to be thrown open to the public on June 28 by president Pratibha Patil.

Sources in Raj Bhavan told DNA that the president, who will be in the city from June 27-29, has agreed to inaugurate the city’s latest landmark.

The state government had put in a “verbal request” to find out if Patil could spare some time to inaugurate the sea link during her stay in the city. “We asked the state administration to fix an exact time for June 28,” a senior Raj Bhavan functionary said.
