Aniket was crushed under the wheels of a bus taken on contract by Bharat Forge on Monday afternoon that witnesses claimed was being driven very rashly.
Aniket’s uncle Ashok claimed he had received a call from Bharat Forge asking the family to meet the company officials at noon on Wednesday.
However, Aniket’s parents and family members were made to wait outside the gates of the company till 3.30 pm.
This prompted the family to garner the support of their friends to block the gates of the company at 3.30 pm. Aniket’s father Gajanan (46), a resident of Milindnagar in Mundhwa told DNA, “I am in a state of shock following the loss of my son. The company is playing with my emotions as they are assuring us of a meeting and then cancelling it.’’
Chanche’s neighbour Dhananjay Gaikwad and other residents of Milindnagar gathered at the company gates at 3.20 pm and blocked the gates and prevented the company’s workers from
coming out at 3.30 pm.
The Mundhwa police inspector, who came after half-hour, saw the angry mob and returned with a State Reserve Police Force team. Assistant commissioner of police, VT Pawar, senior inspector Devidas Patil and sub-inspector Mangal Modhave reached the spot and interacted with the company officials and requested them to give the victim’s family an appointment.
Around 5 pm the company officials gave a letter to the family informing them that they would revert in 10 days, possibly with a job opportunity for one of Aniket’s sisters. The mob dispersed shortly thereafter.
