The CCTV footage collected from the London Wine Shop at Parel where the shootout took place on Tuesday, is blurred according to a police inspector of Bhoiwada police station.
“However, though the CCTV footage is blurred, it gives a fair idea of physical characteristics of the assailants such as height, built, hair colour and complexion,” the inspector said on Wednesday, adding that sketches of the assailants would be prepared from details gathered from the CCTV footage soon.
It may be recalled that an unidentified gunman fired four rounds from his imported revolver at Ajit Panjwani, a salesman-cum-cashier of the London wine shop opposite ITC Grand Maratha at Parel around 11.15 pm on Tuesday, at point blank range.
After the shootout the gunman, who had a handkerchief on his face, and his associate, escaped on foot. Panjwani is currently undergoing treatment at KEM Hospital.
Sources said in June this year after robbers looted the wine shop of Rs1.45 lakh in cash after threatening the cashier with a revolver, zonal DCP Sanjay Bavisar had suggested that the wine shop owner Anand Kukreja install a CCTV in the shop.
