Now, Central Railway has e-RTI

In a move that could benefit several RTI applicants, the Central Railway has introduced e-RTI to dispose of written RTI applications. The introduction of e-RTI was communicated to the media on Friday.

Through the new initiative, the railways will upload any application that comes to them online so that it can be viewed by all public information officers.

“The idea is that all the 27 PIOs belonging to various departments can have a look at any RTI application at once on our internal portal. Once they see a question pertaining to their respective department, the information for the same can be sent to another PIO,” said VA Malegaonkar, chief PIO, Central Railway.
