As the central environment ministry gave conditional clearance to Lavasa hill city project near Pune, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan Thursday said that no special treatment has been given to the company.

Chavan denied any pressure from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, who has been defending the project.

"There was pressure from court to prosecute Lavasa immediately. The prosecution of Lavasa has been done as per court directions. There is nothing which is specially done other than law of land, other than court directions," Chavan told a TV channel.

The ministry gave clearance to the first phase of the project with over 50 conditions, after the state registered complaint against Lavasa officials.

Chavan denied that his visit to Delhi, ahead of environment ministry's order, was just a coincidence and not planned.
