Mumbai cop shunted for links with Munir Khan

Lalasaheb Shettey, an inspector attached to Versova police station, has been transferred to the Local Arms Division for his alleged links with Munir Khan, a self-styled doctor.

Sources saidthat  Shettey was in constant touch with Khan right from the day when an FIR was filed against him at Versova police station in November last year.

When Khan was being sought by the police, the police suspected that someone from the police station itself was leaking vital information to the absconding father-son duo, helping them evade arrest.

On the other hand, the Bombay high court on Thursday extended the interim protection granted to Khan and asked him to be present in court for the next hearing on March 10.
