MU students beat Jadavpur peers in quiz

The University of Mumbai students added yet another feather in their cap by winning the quiz competition at the National Youth Festival of India (NYFI) hosted by the Nagpur University on January 24.

The University of Mumbai students added yet another feather in their cap by winning the quiz competition at the National Youth Festival of India (NYFI) hosted by the Nagpur University on January 24.

A team of Anand Sriniwas (Ruia College), Prateek Gupte and Meghnad Bose (both from St Xavier’s) were lagging behind the Jadavpur University (WB) team till the sixth round, but in the seventh the trio outdid their competitors to snatch a win.

University of Mumbai director of student’s welfare Mridul Nile, who accompanied the students, told DNA, “The quiz contest in the NYFI is a prestigious contest in which top brains take part.”

The university had won the national quiz in 2010 too.
